So as we all know, NY has legalized Gay Marriage (or as I like to jokingly call it “Gay Divorce”), but let us not forget that Trans people can still be fired from jobs, denied service or accommodation, and kicked out of housing all for being gender variant. EQUALITY MY ASS NY! This legalization of Gay Marriage is seen as a victory for the LGBT community, but when the T is consistently left out of 95% of equality discussions yet lumped together in the same category, are we part of the same community? HELL NO! How about before campaigning for marriage, we make sure that EVERYBODY can have the same basic rights of non-discrimination in the workplace, for housing, for basic services. Only 14 states have non-discrimination policies that protect gender identity, remember that.

well when i’m taking a piss, i go to the men’s room because, duh, i am a dude. if my girlfriend and her friends want to do sneaky shots at the bar, i get dragged into the ladies room. and hey anon, next time don’t do the cowardly thing by hiding behind anonymous :)
